My daughter has the little tikes country kitchen and she loves it. It is small enough that we can fit it right near our own kitchen but large enough so she feels like a real cook. She uses her kitchen for every meal and even in between for snacks when her friends come over. They will make the snacks and then bring them outside to her cottage playhouse. They make it seem so real that you would not know it was all pretend.

When my little girl and I get home from food shopping, she likes to put her snacks in the cabinets in her kitchen. She takes her juice and puts it on one of three shelves in the refrigerator. She even checks the icemaker that is on the outside of the refrigerator door to see if it needs more plastic ice cubes. It is so much fun to watch her use her imagination in her kitchen.
I was surprised when I realized how much my little girl learned, just by watching me cook. She knows what usually goes on the stove or in the microwave. The oven and the microwave in the little tikes country kitchen both have doors that open with a space inside and pretend numbers on them. The microwave also makes realistic sounds.
The little tikes country kitchen also has a sink with a faucet. She washes her hands before she does any cooking or eating. She knows that she needs to use the big sink for real water but she still pretends when she is using her kitchen. She reminds her friends to wash their hands too.
There is even a fold out table in the little tikes country kitchen. We will both sit there and have our snacks and she even uses it for coloring and crafts. The kitchen also comes with plastic utensils, plates, pots and pans, all that a little chef needs to make a great meal.
At four years old my little girl is learning how to use everything safely in her kitchen. I remind her that the stove top and the oven are hot and she needs to be careful and use a potholder. The little tikes country kitchen is a terrific place for her to play pretend and it is a great way to teach her about safety in a real kitchen.
